Here are somemore pictures of the original 1926 upholstery on right and left rear door pouches. I've lifted the flaps on each so you can see the pouches. The top of the pouch has stretchy elastic material across the rim. The material inside the pouch and on the inside of the flap has no stripes and looks like the headliner material and door post upholstery. Jim Patrick

Jim,

Was your upholstery originally gray? It looks like the area under the flap is gray. I was under the impression that the 23-24 Fordors were brown, the 25's were blue and the 26-27's were gray.

The reason I ask is that the sales literature for the 24-25 coupe specifies the material as brown with a mahogany stripe. I have never seen the brown with the mahogany stripe, only with a white stripe. Your upholstery looks like brown with a mahogany stripe, but I think it was actually gray.

Very good observation Dave. the inside of the flap and pouch, which was not exposed to the light is indeed grey like the rest of the upholstery probably was at one time, but now it is the color shown in the pictures. A medium brown. It could be attributed to cigar, cigarette, or pipe smokers over the years or just dirt and age. I would like to hire a professional cleaner to dry clean the upholstery so as to remove as much staining as possible so that we can see exactly what color is, currently, without the years of dirt and staining. I sure do like that grey, though. My intention here is to show an upholsterer how he should go about accurately recreating the 1926 rear door pouches. Jim Patrick
