Is there a plan in place to ever change the way we post pictures on this forum? I can do it, but it requires going to my desk, sitting down, clearing my mind and pulling a cheat sheet out my desk drawer Model T file and carefully following the step by step instructions that I wrote down for myself maybe 7 years ago.

In contrast, if someone on the AACA Forum asks me to show them something about my '28 Chandler, I just walk out to the car shed with my iPad, take a picture and post it while I'm walking back into the house. I do realize that the Forums are completely different formats and that making it easier to attach photos would mean changing everything, but maybe it's time for that?

That being said, I do love this forum and look at it every morning while I have breakfast. Thank you to all who contribute and especially those who make this possible by managing it.

I would guess there are no plans to change the way pictures are uploaded. The system used is an integral part of the forum system and would be difficult to change.
As to going to a more modern system, that’s a question for the MTFCA Board to make. Newer systems are somewhat easier to use and allow easy uploading of pictures but the format is not quite as friendly. IMHO.

The short answer is No. The question of a format change comes up often, and the response from forum posters has always been overwhelmingly against it. If the picture posting procedure could be simplified independently, without changing anything else, I expect everybody would be for that. But as that's not possible, most of the participants prefer to learn resizing and keep this format. I think the only simplification available for you here is to post pictures often enough that it becomes easier, just like driving a Model T. :-)

My digital camera has a setting to take pictures in file sizes for sharing in emails etc. which is great since nothing needs to be re-sized.

However since we are probably all now using our phone cameras, and I haven't found such a setting, at least on my phone, I have found a way to resize the pictures on my own laptop. It is a few steps, but I don't have to use a third party website as is often suggested in other posts. I am using an iPhone and a MacBook Pro laptop, but I think it should be similar for all.

Since most of my pictures are downloaded or AirDropped from my phone, they are in my downloads folder. Here is my procedure.

Select the photo from "downloads"
Go to "file" and then "Take a screenshot" and "from selection"
Drag the crosshairs to select what you want to screenshot
(I usually do the whole picture)
Go to "file" and "save" now you can "title" it, select where you want to save it, and select the "format" to save it in
Under "format" select "JPEG" and you will see a "quality" scale and a "file size" under it
Drag the arrow on the scale until the file size is under 250KB and "save"

Now you can select and post the picture from where you saved it. The pictures usually post just like the one below, however sometimes they are very large and you have to scroll to see the whole image. I haven't figured this out yet, but it doesn't always happen.
