I have the "bible", the MTFCA books, and the Obscurity book. A buddy says I need "the black book" and Steve Jelff gave reference to "Fahnstock" for magnet recharging. What are these books, and are they available? I do not want to build a huge library, just want the necessary reading. Your advice is appreciated!

Cheers, Bill

PS this tablet spell check auto fill function makes me crazy.

The black book your friend was referring to may be the Model T Ford service Manual which is often referred to as the "bible".

A lot of the reprints had a green cover. A while later they were reprinted with a black cover. His version may have a black cover.
The MTFCA series of repair manuals have a lot of good information. They have most of the information you would need.

I believe this is the Fahnestock book folks are talking about. I have a copy and it is indeed useful and entertaining. :-)

Thanks! The black book apparently contains build details year by year. The Obscurity book does this, too, but he referenced the "black book". I will pester him for more info. Bill
