David Dewey has been honored with a front page spread in the Oroville MR News!

David is an expert restorer of cars whose successes include a vintage Rolls Royce, steam cars, steam boats, model A Fords, and even those other Fords. He is trained in historical preservation and has been a museum technician, conservator, and manager. He also is a piano tuner, restorer and technician extrodinaire.

He had used his expertise in pneumatics to restore player pianos as well as an original WWII Link trainer!

You will be interested in an over 10 year effort to restore a Giant Wurlitzer organ and his local 1920's vintage theatre: Click here to read the aricle.

The unveiling of the organ will be done with a showing of Laurel and Hardy's "Two Tars", a flick we all love to hate because of the frenetic traffic jam scene.

I have included three photos of David. I marked where you can find him in the first two photos. Stan Laurel is grinning in the last photo because he knows which one is really David in drag!

Terry, that last photo of L&H, is that pic cut off on the bottom or is it the original way it was taken? I would love to get that pic blown up but with the whole front of the car.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention Terry.
Thank you for what you do David!
Due cause to be nearly absent from this forum and it's great you are recognized for your efforts with STAGE.

They talc'd the cowl for the The Boys' publicity shot didn't they?

Bill, well, some do call me Coo-coo! I ran into one gal who was so fastidious, she put papers under the coo-coo clock! :-)
Yes, the organ has been keeping me from the forum and a lot of other things too-the deterioration of my dial-up connection hasn't helped either!

Doug, that studio publicity still is not cropped from how I found it. It may have been cropped from the original however. I suggest you do a Google photo search on it to find out. I would try to do that for you but I am on the road today.

Very frustrating night tonight--tried to "fire up" the organ, and the logic boards won't communicate. Seems one is fried, so maybe Sunday we'll fire it up! Lots of air leaks to chase down in the meantime. April 7 is looming LARGE!

OK guys, New board on its way and some leaks fixed today, but had to load in the community band for the concert tomorrow night (the regular person is home sick, so I substituted).
Yep Denny, in our family was say that election was stolen! Yes, a relative BTW. Jerry, a cousin, 7 times removed, I've been told. Harold, my older brother is Louie! (named after our grandfather Louis Cabus (that's the Flemish side of the family)
Well, we'll see on Monday if we've got the "big" bugs out!
