Been into T’s going on 50 years...

There have been times I’ve been last one in on tours, but I managed to drive in or limp in following a tough day.

I have followed the “fuel, spark, compression rule” and always somehow, someway managed to tinker my way back.

I even would not let one good leg and one worthless leg slow me down (quite frankly THAT push was therapy that I do think has helped)

But this weekend I had to do it. Fuel related and on the side of the road, Nothing in my bag of tricks worked and no spare carb aboard.

I wonder if me T will ever forgive me for breaking a trust?

At some point and time we all, T's and humans, need a lift home. At least you didn't abandon it like a owner may have in the 30's,so it is probably happy to be home and dry.

That always sucks!

I had to call once. The start locked up, and would not release. After about two hours, I called the tow truck. I kept working on it, about 20 minutes later, for what ever reason it unlocked. Called the tow company and canceled, yippie!

Hopefully back in the garage, it will be an easy and cheap fix.

George,

I know of your pain. Had to have my Speedster towed back in 2003. It broke a fiber timing gear.

About 2 or 3 years ago, I had it on a Speedster tour. The front main bearing starting going very bad the last day of the tour. I was determined to "make it or break it", but not to tow it. I nursed it through 60 miles of some really bad sounds, but got it back under its own power. All fixed up now!

My 21, Nellybell, came home on the "Trailer of Shame" last June when the center main went. Still not back on the road, yet! Hope to have back up and running by first tour of the season.

I’ll bet it was the first one for the tow truck driver also.

Know the feeling. I lost my brakes at the top of Lolo Pass. Best to live to fight another day.

I feel better now :-)

I haven’t had a chance to get into it yet, but I don’t think it is mad at me...I walk past, look at the drip pans...dry as a bone. Who knows, maybe it got mad and cranky BECAUSE I stopped a Bendix cover leak just a week or so ago...hah
