First let me thank all those members that donated items & helped to get them to the museum for the period correct machine shop project. It is intended that this machine shop will be able to repair model Ts as they did back in the day using the same type of machines. It will also be used to carry out workshops to teach members & in particular the younger generation, passing on the knowledge & experience of our elder members.
In the last few weeks we have received the following:
K&R Wilson Combination Machine with 98% of the parts & accessories to put it into operation thanks to Bill Howell.
We also have a converted drill press for boring out the Babbitt bearing in the connecting rod thanks to Dan Mceachern.
Another donation is a line drive Star Metal Lathe complete with three & four jaw chucks donated by Les Summer.
14 foot line drive shaft with brackets and pulleys was donated by Holger Berthelsen
All items are period correct.
To complete the KR Wilson combination machine that will allow us to prepare it for hands on workshops we are in need of the following:
2 long quick bolts
3 quick bolt & 3 quick nuts
1 Model T cylinder boring bar
2 Babbitt ladles
1 Bearing facing tool
Other items that would be very useful are:
Oxygen/Acetylene gauge, hoses & torch
2-burner propane stove
1-3 clean engine blocks
Alloy Power Babbitt
Welders gloves and goggles (will need up to 15 of each to be used during workshop demonstration)
If anyone can help with the above items please send me a PE or contact Susan Yaeger at the MTFCA office.

What diameter and length on the quick bolts?
First trip out of the house since knee surgery replacement & you are going with JK on Tuesday to look at stuff for the Museum - that is Dedication or Nuttiness or perhaps maybe a little of both ....
I would like to personally thank Jim for transporting the rod boring machine from the Bakersfield swap meet to the museum. I've owned this for at least 40 years and it was just too cute to dispose of, but the museum is much better place for it to live going forward. Thanks Jim!
