Purchased a cam shaft at a liquidation auction a while back from a guy that machined and rebuilt Model T engines for a living—pretty sure he has passed away by now. It has “ 2501 SMC” stamped on the end of the shaft. He told me it was a new shaft not a regrind. Can anyone tell me what I have and it’s characteristics ? Thanks
I have determined it is a Stipe Cam and have contacted them for details.
Since the stock lift on a T cam is .250, and your cam has 2501 SMC (Specialty Motor Cams) stamped on it, I bet you that its their stock replacement cam.
Dang, good score Joseph! The New Cam I have only has "114" stamped on it. At least I think it's a new cam. . . .
