Mostly six cylinder photos, but there are a few T pics included.

We had a great week touring in Pennsylvania. Rain on one day slowed down some, but otherwise the weather was perfect the entire week. Below are an assortment of photos, primarily of the three Model K Fords and 1908 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost.

Several Early Ford Registry members attended the tour, kicking off our EFR summer tour season. Our theme this year, "Kelly's Heroes." Each year we create shirts and plan a theme. This year, we honor Tim and Joan Kelly, longtime Early Ford Registry and Tour members. Tim introduced me to Model K, and has toured thousands of miles over the last several years with his 1907 K touring car.

The three "K" on the tour:

There were an incredible number of beautiful pre-1916 cars on the tour:

John and Denise Dolan with their incredible 1908 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost. We had four pre-1909 six cylinder cars on the tour. That may be a current day record:

John and I, probably discussing the merits of 400 plus cubic inch six cylinder engines:

When you didn't have to lift the hood to see the horsepower:

Two 1909 Model T. Carl Pate's touring car in the lead, with Tim Kelly's 09 tourabout. The tourabout became the EFR "press car," carrying several EFR members who came in for the tour. Two of our favorite Brits were the primary drivers, and did a good staying on the correct side of the road, most of the time......

However, even Model T break down once in a while. Not to worry, help is on the way........... :-)

The Early Ford Registry group in "uniform."

When in the "six cylinder club" one sometimes has the honor of cranking other sixes.......

A great tour. I highly recommend attending, and wish to thank the organizers for a wonderful event. Possibly Gil F. or other attendees will post pics of other cars and people attending:

Thanks Gary. My pleasure.

This is a "Heroes" video with many of the same photos, and others. John, the RR owner, was kind enough to play the "heavy" with his Ghost in the opening:

THANKS for the pictures

Was this the tour in Butler Pa? That was my old home town. Also home of the Jeep!

Boy oh boy Rob....

This is one heck of a way to learn that the "Press Team" broke my Tourabout while on the tour.

Geez Louise.....

Well, I suppose all that ends well is fine with me. And, it's not like the old Tourabout isn't covered with 50 years of patina.

I am glad, however, I didn't let them get to close to my Model K... LOL

Whose K is easiest to crank?

Sorry, Rob. I didn't take any pictures. Tracy Lesher, the new (and good!) Horseless Carriage Gazette editor, asked me to write about the BBC tour for the September-October issue, and she would do the photography. So, you'll see her and my work in about 3-1/2 months; the curse of dead-tree instead of web publishing!

There were two Silver Ghosts: John Dolan's 1908 and Bob Barrett's 1913. On Tuesday, when it rained and more than half the drivers (including me) wimped out and went modern, these guys did the 73-mile run to Longwood Gardens in their Ghosts. Next year, I shall display more fortitude to go with my fortitude..

It was a real thrill to see the three Ks. I gather Linda and Hugo Vermuelen's touring used to be yours, and now resides with them in Canada. This suggested some politically incorrect fake news. (Canadians infiltrate Pennsylvania to join KKK; liberal Democrats demand wall along northern border!) Not to worry; this kind of KKK is just wonderful, and our Canadian neighbo(u)rs are always welcome.
