Can i instead of rivit bond the lining to the shoe?
is there a glue i can use , i find that the lining is too thin to countersink rivits
thank you lorenzo
I installed the repro lining with the rivets using the countersinking tool and rivet punch available from the suppliers. There was no difficulty installing it; just time consuming. However, the ends of the lining do need to be bonded otherwise they stick out and rub against the drum. I used JB weld for this very successfully.
Having said that, I found the stopping power of the repro linings was inferior to the original asbestos linings, and eventually I got proper woven linings bonded to the shoes which work most excellently.
If you prefer old style woven lining, contact Jeff at Moose Motors. He can supply original woven lining installed correctly on your shoes.

Are the original indeed asbestos? And what material are the ones from Moose Motors?
Has anyone tried Kevlar?
