I'm not familiar with the story, apparently Henry Ford wanted to lighten the T so made aluminum body components for one year only?
This one is at a restoration shop, getting ready for a off frame restoration (which is easy, since the body's in pieces already!)
Earlier post by Hap. Many alum bodies by Ford, some in 1909, many more with the Fordor body. Ford is still at it with the alum pick up bed F150!

Thanks, Dan, interesting reading.....
The doors on my 1924 Coupe are aluminum. Of that there is no question.
Bruce told me they can’t be, as aluminum doors were only used on the fordors. So either Bruce was wrong (can’t be that) or the coupe and fordors are identical and both doors on my coupe have been replace at some time (again quite unlikely). One maybe, but both????
So you tell me......
