I'm following the advice of several forum threads and filling the drilled out holes in my Holley NH with a 8-32 stainless set screws for easy future maintenance. Do I need to use caulk to make it vacuum tight, or are screw threads tight enough? If I need caulk, what caulk is safe for carburetor use, but will not defeat the purpose of using set screws? I recall my handy Permatex #2 cleans up with alcohol, so I suspect that's not the answer.

I use a little Permatex thread sealer, come in a small tube and is a white liquid.

Don't understand the infatuation with screws. Nothing wrong with brass plugs as original. No one reading this post will live long enough to need to reclean those passageways...
