Does anyone know what the correct initial set up adjustments are for a Stromberg OE-1 carb? I've hear everything from 1/2 turn to 2 turns for the idle adjustment, somewhere between 2 to 4 1/2 turns out for the high speed adjustment, and between 1/8" and 1/4" lift for the economizer valve. Sure could use some advice. I've got the correct accessory manifold and want to try it on my '25 T. Thanks : Bruce
You need to check any used Stromberg to make sure that when the knob is screwed in all the way they needle is stopping it from screwing in further and not the knob hitting the holder.
All Stromberg bronze carbs use the same initial adjustment. 2 1/2 turns from fully closed for the high speed needle and 3/4 turn from fully closed for the low speed needle.
This assumes that the carb has the correct original needle that has not been farmerized.
Stan what about; between 1/8" and 1/4" lift for the economizer valve?
Thanks Stan, I'll try it this week. Bruce
Stan, I have filed away you term,'farmerised' for future use. However, I do hope that it reflects better workmanship than 'butchered'. Most farmers could get things to work when needed, without it looking all that pretty.
