Once upon a time I saw a memo about the wire wheel and stripe combination on the Improved Fords. The wording was along the lines of "Offer to paint wheels with a brush, one coat. Colors are vermilion, casino red, straw and emerald green. Stripe to match." Have any of you seen the memo and more to the point, have a copy? Thanks.
I am about 90% sure the stripe was for the body not the wheels. In the "Model T Ford Service Bulletin Essentials" page 471;
In the event the customers desire to replace the standard black wire wheels with colored wire wheels, the dealer is justified in making and additional charge of $10.00 to cover labor, freight, etc, incidental to making the change.
