The reamer does not fit into the alignment tool.

I purchased from Langs, the 2713RM reamer, the part that arrived says 2713RT. I also purchased the alignment tool 2713RTM.

The reamer does not fit into the alignment tool.

Measurements:

0.502" Reamer shaft
0.498" Alignment tool ID

Does the measurements sound right? I am assuming the alignment tool is incorrect.

Call Lang's, they are very helpful.

I had the same problem. I called the maker of the tool. He simply said open up tool with reamer and your all set. Then you can knock out bushings and install one, insert tool and ream bushing. Install the other one and use freshly reamed bushing to align the other. Another thing to be very careful is the new bushings will also likely be far to large to install and will need to be turned down a little so you don’t either damage them while installing or damage the spindle body. I made a little holding fixture and chucked them up in my drill press and used a file to get them down to a nice stiff press fit.

I know this thread is about reaming the ID of the bronze spindle bushing the kingpin inserts into but I have an original tool to ream the bushing flange so the spindle will fit into the front axle yoke. Question: Which bushing flange do ya’ll remove bronze material from - the top or bottom bushing?...

Observing that all the weight of the front of a Model T rests on the upper bushing, I only ream the lower spindle bushing to fit the spindle into the axle yoke...

I clean up the top one and remove material needed to fit from the bottom. Also make sure the face, esp the top, of the axle where the busing rides is flat and clean.

Just to close this out.

I called the reamer manufacturer. He stated the reamer measures correctly. He was not familiar with the alignment tool. He did offer to hone it for free.

I called Lang's, and Steve, offer to hone one and send me. I already have an item to return, so I took him up on the offer. Thank you Steve.
