I love time capsules. Here in Rochester one was opened in 1999 that was sealed in a copper box since 1873. There were hundreds of artifacts and nearly all of them were in perfect condition. The local Rochester Science Museum had special copper and glass covered drawers to display everything. And the drawers were made by the same company that made the box in 1873.

Two finds were particularly interesting: a letter from the mayor of Rochester writing to the mayor in the future that even described where his grave would be in the future. And ... a prank. A sheep intestine condom in an envelope on the very bottom of the box!
