Looks like some kind of oil dispenser?
I think that is what it is. I ran a Texaco Station in the early 60's and there were still bulk oil tanks in the basement with pipes going to the pump island. Obviously the dispenser had long ago been removed.
It wouldn't surprise me if Charlie had one or more. ;o)
Yup. The attendant is filling a can with a spout. I worked in a station where the bulk tanks were inside, and we would pump oil into cans like that. The spout swings down and there's a trigger above the handle to let the oil flow out. It was mostly used for oil changes but the occasional customer would ask for bulk oil to add a quart when buying gas.
I don't care WHAT kind of oil you want in your T! We have it ready for you on tap.
Geez! He’s so clean he should be working in an ice cream parlor. How can someone stay so clean servicing Model T’s? Jim Patrick
