It's a little early to tell for sure.
I was planning to drive my T with my wife to a friend's annual Halloween party Saturday evening, about 15 miles of back roads away. Big outside deal with a huge bonfire, lots of good eats and beverages. My buddy has a 49 Farmall and pulls a big hay wagon around the neighborhood, it's a good time.
Now the forecast is 51 for the high Saturday and 30s with rain snow mix possibly at night...I have side curtains, but screw the slippery stuff ! Hopefully the weather channel has it wrong.

Dave,

I hope the forecast changes for you!

Our weather this year has frankly Sucked! I am not home too much, but when I am it seemed like I couldn't get hardly any nice days. Saturday will be good weather for me as I will be in California!

God Bless
Bill

Just play it by ear and keep watch on the local radar. Definitely not a banner season around here this year. Seemed only one weekend per month was rain free.

This has been one of the strangest years weather-wise that I can remember. Heat, drought, wind, rain, we've seen it all. I hope our winter is a little more normal.

Only rained twice here....... once for 40 days and another time for 70 days!!

We didn't get a lot of rain, all around us did. We did have the hot humid days and nights. About 2 weeks ago it was 87 and like the flip of a switch... burrr !!
I will get to the party, just maybe not in the T.
I have ridden my bike to this one before and also hung sideways 90 degrees to a tree before. The end of October is pretty unpredictable here.

Dave,

Don't be bummed. I drive my Model T's all year around because they are the only cars I have. My Touring has no side curtains and I just dress for the weather and go. It sometimes takes a little longer because of the road conditions but I always get there. I was retired but I now work for a friend who needs help with his excavating business and no matter what the weather I report to work when he needs me. He laughs because I get there and some of the others in modern cars don't.
Keep a stiff upper lip and truck on.

Ten years ago I drove the 15 Touring to a club event 15 miles away in May. Snowed on us on the way home. Going slow and careful we made it home just fine. But there was a follow up suggestion we get an enclosed car. Now it is hard to get the wife to ride in the open car, but at least that was one time there were no raised eyebrows when another T came home to stay!

Denny, if you recall, I said the wife's going with me.
I don't think I can talk her into it. I ain't skeered, I road my bike and had to scrape frost off the speedo a few times...no windshield either. lol

Well My Model T friends you should live in Northern California-first we have had 1/2 inch since early May and half of the North state has burned and many homes lost and 8 lives. No rain in the near sight, maybe a week or three!!!!!!!
If it does rain we hope for light to start as the bare hillsides will be out to sea in a few days of rain.

Dave, have your wife take a blanket and dress for weather. My wife takes a blanket and rolls her eyes but I think she has fun. I keep my speed down a bit on snow and plan stops early. Rain is not a problem this year since I have a top now. Its better than riding our Harley in a cold rain!

I also will not take the chance of getting into the road salt/brine solution (liquid rust).
Still watching the forecast, not looking much better yet. It could still be decent, the weather prophets have been wrong once or twice before...

Dave come on down! no snow, no salt (unless you get too close to the beach) it is the time of year when good driving weather is an expected thing. The Coup de gras is we have plenty of people from Ohio down here already so you shouldn't have any problems finding other "Buckeye's" to socialize with (including my wife and a few neighbors)

Ever since I received my LED headlight bulbs...the weather has been crap.
Maybe I should send them back ?
I'm not sure if we're going to the party at all now, rain, rain and cold.

Suck it up Dave!
A Model T or horse drawn carriage was all they had in the olden days.
Bundle up and have fun.

I drove a Datsun with a roll bar so the top would not go up to work in in the winter while living Corning NY. It was in the rain, snow, and freezing weather. The guys would make fun of me but most of them knew they were wimps and wished their wives would let them have a race car to drive to work. In fact a couple of them actually said it!

Stick your tongue out at the wimpy people and just do it!

Just be careful your tongue dosen’t get frostbite.

Years ago, before family got in the way, I used to drive my no fenders speedster all year long. Drove in full downpours often. I hope to do it again soon.

At my house we're already hoping for no rain or snow on the first Saturday in December so we can ride our '21 Touring in the three local Christmas parades. One is at 10 AM, one at 12 noon, and one at 2 PM. Our three grandsons are looking forward to it and throwing candy to the onlookers.

Go to WalMart and get some plastic sheeting and make side curtains. If there's no wind in side, it's really pretty comfy.

I have found my T runs it's best when it's in that range. I just have learned to dress for the weather.

I have curtains, I have Carhartts...
It's supposed to rain ALL DAY, and be 47 for the high !! Not sure if I can talk the lovely wife into going at all now... If we get some breaks later, maybe. She's a trooper, rain doesn't bother her much, but cold makes her unhappy. Now we all know that an unhappy wife makes everyone unhappy !! lol
This rain/cold, has got my back tied into a dozen knots.

Yeah I've yet to get my wife or anyone for that matter, to join me for my winter drives. I tell myself it's an acquired like.

I used to drive my model A roadster with no side curtains all year long. I can recall getting out
from work, opening the door a scooping out the snow
and hopping in. BUT !!! I was young and foolish then. Now I'm older.

Cool rainy here and I barely trust drivers in this area on a sunny day. My wife only rides in the 27 roadster during the spring when it cool.. she will tough it out some in the model a coupe in the summer but it gets hot.

Don't ask me how, but I talked her into it !!
Mostly drizzle and light rain, it wasn't bad with the curtains.
Had a great time, saw some good friends I hadn't seen for a while. Good eats, a couple ciders, great fire and no car problems !! Headlights worked good.

Good to hear you went in the T. A new wiper is a good thing. I had to use mine this summer in a heavy rain. You are pretty busy driving a T in the rain. I tell people it takes 4 hands and 3 feet.

My friend's wife sent this picture of our arrival to the party.
My wife had taken her coat off getting out and back in, because she forgot something and her hood was catching on the curtain. She didn't put it back on and wasn't cold. She put it on for the ride home !!

Stupid questions abound...
Does it have heat, was the most asked...
I said yes, the curtains and your breath !!
