I am working on my wife's daily driver changing out the front wheel hubs.

The new studs are a bit shorter, between 1 & 2 threads shorter. I can't check the engagement because the nuts are chrome capped. Was thinking of getting a regular lug nut and checking with that.

They torqued up to 100 ft lbs. Should I be worried?

I would not be concerned at all.
Usually they go through the nut by 3-4 threads.

A good rule of thumb is that the minimum thread engagement must be equal to or greater than the thread diameter of the wheel stud. Example: M12 x 1.5 nut requires a minimum of 12mm (.472”) of thread engagement. :-)

Chris,

I think you are getting a false reading due to your old rotors have been turned before.

All the Best,

Hank

Rotors? None visible on my screen. You could swap in the old studs if you are concerned. Good luck, jb
