I took the wrong hinge off my late 23 roadster and it went flawless without one scratch, until I went to close the door; it has 3/4 inch past back edge and 3/4gap at front edge. The long part is at bottom and all grooves for hinge match. What is wrong? Did I do something wrong? What can I do? Thanks MEL.

remember the bolt plates will slide inside the panels. Your hinge and door panel can be aligned perfectly, but if the inner hinge bolt plate has shifted you can get some horrendous gaps. Loosen the hinge up enough to shift the door forward, tighten it slightly and check your gap. Repeat until door lines up. Remember top rear corner of door out, bottom hinge in. Top rear corner in, bottom hinge out. Bottom rear corner of door out, top hinge in. Bottom rear door corner in, top hinge out.

Gary. The doors on my 1926 coupe have never lined up right. Would the technique you described work on the improved all-steel bodied T? Jim Patrick
