I have one set of original pistons with holes in the oil ring groove and one set without holes
What is correct I will be using grant rings. Philip

Drilling holes "to drain the oil" was a common dodge years ago to try to limit oil pumping. I'd be inclined to use non drilled pistons. Aren't you using the pistons that came out of the engine?

To be 100% correct then it's the non holed pistons with 3 cast compression rings, no oil ring, use which fits your bore the best.

Do both piston sets have FORD script, and do the oil holes look “factory”, or like someone drilled them with a hand-drill?

I would have no problem with using the pistons with the holes drilled where you described
