I love this photo! There are thousands of original era photos taken of model T (and other) speedsters, where the speedster is clearly the main object of the photo. We know from all those pictures that many thousands of speedsters were built and driven in those early years of the automobile. However, many thousands of general street scenes photos can also be studied. The interesting thing about them, is how few model T speedsters are seen in traffic along with a bunch of other cars. This is a fantastic old photo clearly showing a model T speedster sharing the road with other common automobiles.
We can speculate that one of the reasons for speedsters showing up in traffic more often, may be that many drivers of such cars preferred to drive the back roads where they could open them up a bit. Possibly also, most speedster owners may have built their cars precisely because they lived where back roads were their daily drive.
I cannot help but wonder what the story is behind this car and this picture. Regardless, it is wonderful to look at.
