Three T Model Ford cars of the RAF Light Armed Car Patrol lined up outside their headquarters (HQ) at the RAF Armament School. During the Cairo riots of late 1918 and early 1919 the unit was used to quell riots and rescue people from violent mobs. They were armed with two .303 Lewis machine guns, one mounted on a pedestal at rear and a dismountable one was operated by the front seat passenger. All four crew carried revolvers. Reading from left to right the serial numbers of the three are LC1717, LC1702, and LC1849. Similarly configured Fords were used by the Australian Light Car Patrol in 1918 in actions against the Turks.
