Two unidentified officers travelling on a T model Ford chassis (serial M 45281) that has been adapted for use on a light railway. Wide and narrow gauge railways had to be constructed around the Somme battlefield when wet weather made roads impassable for men, horses and motor vehicles.

A Crewe motor loco for hauling wagons and general transport on the light railways laid behind the front. Most supplies and ammunition was carried on these railways.
