Messages don't get marked as sent until the recipient opens them. :)

Sent my very first PM to a member about parts in the classifieds 3 days ago and no response. When I check Messages it doesn't show up in the Sent folder but it is shown in the Outbox. Was it never sent or did I do something wrong?
