What a great photo.

That T and its owner were still hanging in there in '38. Let's say he's 80 years old. He'd have been born in 1858 and would've remembered the Civil War from a child's perspective.

Looks like the T has a sealed-beam headlight conversion.

Problems Installing Top Bows

I’m installing the top bows on my 24 Touring for the first time…without any straps or anything tying them together…in preparation for the installation of the straps/pads/top. I’m finding it to be near impossible to get the bows erected. Should I tie them together first with some twine that mimics th...

Re: VEHICLES FOR SALE BY THE MTFCA!

I've never understood car museums...most of them are depressing. Cars need to be driven. The Model T museum is telling a specific story about a specific car that changed the whole world. That's different. But even they can't (and shouldn't) keep a bunch of extra cars around. If you donate your commo...

Re: Indian Springs Tour 1968

WoW! You have taken better care of your 66 than I have taken of my 65. The tool box was handy for a few years but the lock kept rusting shut and the bottom soon rusted out. boxx.jpg The old truck has been good to me but I never really appreciated it. Thanks for the picture. Rich Your 65 looks like ...

Re: Indian Springs Tour 1968

That's great stuff Rich....thanks for sharing.

Crazy to think that I'm in my 50's but was born a year after the 1968 photos.

I'm digging the accessory tool box in the red F100. I'd love to have one of those in my 66.

While it is easy to mix anti freeze in a pail as Steve suggests, the occasional top-ups are less easy to judge. Are you going to mix a batch each time? How much will you need? What do you do with the extra?

The extra. :)
That's what I do as well

Re: Ideal T antifreeze/coolant???

For what it's worth, I'm always amused at the temperature difference at the top of a Model T radiator and the bottom. When I first shut off my car, the top of the radiator is too hot to keep sustained skin contact, whereas the bottom is uncomfortable, but you can leave your hand on it. That's quite ...

Re: Ideal T antifreeze/coolant???

Been running regular green antifreeze and distilled water (50/50) since I put my T back on the road a few years ago. With a new radiator and a flushed out engine, I've driven in 105 degree temps, with the T sitting still at stoplights, and the thing won't overheat. When Texas recently saw 7 degrees ...

I'm about to make a cart for a gas welder out of a Model T frame. The frame was butchered in the past and is not suitable to be used for a car.

Wow. What a shocking and profound loss for the Model T family.

Had a nice conversation at Chickasha with him several years ago. First class guy.

I’m just looking for an original key cylinder/tumbler and key. I don’t need the switch plate.

WTB - Ignition Switch & Key

Looking for an original ignition tumbler and matching key for my 24 Touring.

The repros are not good quality and I’m looking for an original set.

It need not be perfect looking (my car isn’t perfect looking)...just functional.

Re: Outside Engine Oiler

The later engines had a bigger pickup funnel....that helps. I bought one of the Ford Faithful Oilers from Chaffin's. I live in very flat country so I haven't bothered to install it yet. My car has the improved factory pickup tube and I thoroughly cleaned it out when I refreshed my engine. I think it...

Don I had a converted 3/4 ton ‘80’s Ford truck with a “beaver tailed” flatbed. Ultimately made 5 removable bows from ridgid conduit and had a fitted tarp sewn up. Re: Lightweight Model T Hauling Trailer?

I'd be nervous as a cat hauling a car (T or otherwise) at highway speeds on a trailer like the one in your OP. I was a little kid, riding with my dad (around 1974) in his 1970 Chevy pickup, hauling a single axle open-top (with a canvas cover) horse trailer with two horses in it. The trailer blew a t...
