I have been working on bringing some of the small parts that aren’t correct to my 1922 steenbhoms built tourer . It was meant to have a low radiator Nickel shell and nickel headlight surrounds But the radiator shell was black and the radiator was not cooling properly So I sent the radiator shell off...

On Thursday 3rd we laid my father to rest after his tragic death
But we gave him the best send off with taking him to his final rest spot on my 25 T 😊

Hi Don I have done this with a piece of 0.8 mm stainless welding wire and cut about a foot and a half off and wound it around a half inch drill shank ant tried it then kept cutting it back until I got the right resistance

I have marked in white where to cut on input bar and on brushes lead
On input bar I cut the left bar as marked on first pic
On second pic you will notice the left coil bar has a white mark on it that is the second detachment

Hi Lorenzo I’m going to try and explain so her goes
The first pic is of an in modified starter and as you see the input bar is connected to both sides to a coil
On the other side there are the brush leads joined in the middle by two coils but the eyelets are on one continuous lead

Hi terry if I’m right though 6 volt draws heavy amps but 12 v won’t draw as much amps and 24 draws less again
Am I right in theory ?

I’m looking at what your doing but your diagram looks like you are moving 2 wires When I convert my starters I cut one side of the in feed bar one side Then at other end I separate the 2leads at the brushes lead and send one Side of coil back up to top coil the same as your top half of your diagram ...

Finally nice weather

Finally after having my fully rebuilt engine home for about 3 weeks I got a chance to get my engine painted as we are in the middle of winter here and have had miserable weather for weeks and yesterday was perfect so I got it painted and is going in today
I miss driving this little T around

Take time to think about that john if I crank an engine clock wize and if you look at the hogshead right the out let of my oil line is end close wize I think it’s the correct way

I was just finishing putting the last few bits back on my new engine when I discovered that the outside oil line was dodgy so I looked at my other engines oiler and copied it
It is a 1/2” copper fitting a bit of pipe and a plate
And this is how it came out

I have spoken to a lot of elderly gentleman with T’s and A’s and none of them have seen them either so it makes them reasonably collectible
But to have a 6v and 12v I feel very lucky to own them

A couple of years back I picked up a very rare 6volt rubber body ford battery and have never seen one again but today at our local swap meet ( flea market type thing) I picked up a 12 volt rubber body battery So now I have a matching pair 6 and 12 volt rubber body batteries made in Australia by Dunlop

Yes the tourer is a 1922 built by steenbhoms of Sydney
And the black T is a Duncan and Fraser built in Adelaide and this is one of there 1/2 ton lorries it’s a little tray
