Yes, that is definitely an oil dispenser. I took over the lease, in 1962, on the oldest service station in our city. It was a Texaco station and still had the oil drums, full of oil, in the basement with pipes running underground to the gas island. The dispanser was long gone but the concrete pad wh...

These were pretty common junk yard items back in the 50's-60's around here. The life expectancy of early Anglia/Prefect cars was not great in our climate. I picked one of those caps up at that time to replace the broken "pot-metal" cap on my 27 touring. It's still on the car and I have never had a p...

Yes to a wood screw. My 27 Touring top frame and brackets are original and use a wood screw. Mine is a Canadian car so of course the screws are Robertson head, available in any hardware store north of the border. As stated they should be installed after all other adjustments have been finalized.

Not sure if this will work on your car or not, but when I was working on 30's to 50's cars we always positioned the window crank so that it's weight would be in a position that it would exert a force in the downward direction trying to wind the window up, if possible.. Re: Improved car bumpers
I scrapped an original Canadian Touring a few years ago. It had the full bumper on the front and the split bumper, or "bumperettes", on the rear and originally had wire wheels. Maybe a "sport package"? My other Canadian Touring came without bumpers and has Kelsey demountable wood spoked wheels.

I have a 27 Canadian built Touring that we bought from the original owner 60+ years ago. It had no arms or saddles and had both rubber plugs in place. I installed arms and saddles and lost the rubber plugs at some point.

Cobblestones and streetcar tracks. Still had lots of those in Saint John when I was growing up in the 40’s. The cobblestones and some of the tracks remained quite a while after the streetcars were gone. I can clearly remember the rhythmic “rump-rump-rump” of cars driving on the cobblestones past my ...

Welcome! Nice to see another T (future) owner from Canada. A Canadian built car would be my preference. I have a 27 Canadian touring and have always found the little differences from the US built cars interesting, if a bit problematic at times. Good luck!

Looks exactly like the rims on my Canadian 27 Touring. Mine are marked on the inside Kelsey Canada. You might see the same on yours if you look closely. Some of my latches were damaged like yours and it is an easy fix as others have described. Still looking for one of the spreaders that fit these wh...

Spindle Arm with Hole
Cleaning out some of my surplus T parts and am a little confused on this one. It is a T282 spindle arm with the hole to mount the speedometer cable support. Bruce Mcalley's book seems to indicate that it was used in 1912 and 1913. I have seen copies of the Ford Parts Book that list it as being for 1...

Just did my part to save a Model T item from being scrapped. Bought a brass radiator shell top inset panel, inscribed " Ford Made in Canada", from a picker. He said it was worth $1 for scrap and was happy when I gave him $2. Investment in the future, he says he will go back and see if he can dig up ...

27 Touring. Had water pump when we bought the car from original owner. Also had a large damage to the radiator hidden behind the license plate. Would overheat in parade situations. Eventually bought a new rad and removed the leaky pump. No problems since.

First day of waterfowl (ducks, geese) season here in New Brunswick on the Eastern Flyway. Like my Doctor told me a while ago, there is no "normal". The real measurement of health is how different any measurement (heart rate, blood pressure, lung sounds) is from what is typical for the particular patient. I think Model T's are similar. After rebuilding my transmission and axle in my 27 T ...
