Re: brackets

Hi Rudy, I don't have any extras, but I attached a photo to show the difference between the 09/10 brackets, and the 11 and later. The early brackets are shorter and the mounting holes are counter sunk. There are a pair on eBay now, but in my opinion the price is to high. Have you tried chaffins? They...

Wow that was great! One could only dream about finding one if those early cars, imagine finding it in a
basement or barn, covered with canvas and a two inch layer of dust.

Thanks again, that was very educational!

Re: Want to buy pitman arm

Thanks for the great information. It's amazing how many subtle changes Henry Ford made. So if I understand this correctly, the 26/27 and the 09 are a very close match other than the keyway depth? I was told using the longer pitman arm can be problematic with the one piece spindle axel, but it appear...

Want to buy pitman arm

Happy memorial weekend! Trying to assemble my 09 chassis and have learned the the early pitman arms are shorter than the later ones. How long did they use the short one? Does anyone have one they would like to part with? Thanks Mike

Re: 1909 firewall drawing

Thank you so much for the information John, that's just what I needed. My pattern has the cutout hole for the column at 11 1/2" from the bottom so it is 9/16" to low. Now I can proceed with the project. And thank you for the file to fit info, I was planning on drilling it on my Bridgeport with an an...

Re: 1909 firewall drawing

Thank you for the great drawing. All I need is the measurements from the top of the firewall to the center of the steering column hole similar to the way it's shown on the 1913 drawing. If someone with an original 09 firewall could give me that, I will be good to go. What I have as a pattern seems t...

Re: Later flywheel fit in narrow pan?

Thank you everyone for your input. I'm a little confused now, so there were 3 square hole aluminum hogshead sizes? 16" , 16 1/4" and 16 3/4" ? I'd like to build the engine with a starter ring gear. My idea was when I get tired of cranking in a few years, I could swap out the pan and hogshead to a la...

Hi Tony, Erik Barrett has a lathe setup that he straightens rear axle housings with. You should contact him. He routinely uses it whenever it rebuilds a rear axle.
Hope this helps.
