Re: model t front axle

Thanks George,
it has a slight bend either from hitting something or pulling something. I guess the axle should be strait. In the book it shows tying a string from king pin hole to king pin hole, I can do that to correct the curve. I have a 20 ton hope that will do.
Thanks again!

Thanks Mark,
This is Steve, the post helped allot I will try the pipe trick to remove the bushing.
Looking at my drive shaft tube I noticed that the old bushing has already been replaced with a brass one. I also noticed that the oil hole was never drilled.

Re: What have you done to your Model T in January?

Hello Steve here, I have started to rebuild my 1926 rear axle. New sleeves, new axles, new brass thrust washers, new pins. Now I'm looking at the drive shaft. I have a new brass bushing but I don't have the tool to remove the old one. I hate buying these expensive tools when I plan to use then once....

Another way to protect yourself. Get educated on the specifics of the car. Ask questions like, "what kind of thrust washer is in the rear axle, babbit or brass? If they get a puzzled look on their face, look out. I know this not because I have replaced them but because I have read it is vidal this u...

Re: Warford Support Bracket ?

Thanks Hank, My idea was to support the weight without restricting the natural flex of the frame. I believe the Warford needs to move with the engine and oil pan to prevent fatigue cracks. My idea was that the horizontal flat stock would support the weight while the 4 independent springs would allow...

Re: Warford Support Bracket ?

Hello, wanted to get opinions on this support for the Warford. I took a model T front leaf spring and straitened it out. Then welded two cross tabs on each end. My plan is to support each end with four small springs, two above and two below each end. The Warford has two existing holes on the case to...

One other thing Please
Does anyone have a source for the small springs in the shifter rods?
The springs that provide tension to the ball bearings to lock the shifter rods in place?
Springs I found are to large to fit or to weak.

Hello, I have to agree. I purchased a frame, front and rear axle from a scrap yard for practically nothing.
