Re: a question of horse power
Having everything in the engine and transmission properly balanced is the very first step before adding any horsepower. A good dynamic balancing of the flywheel with magnets is the most important part. Next item to add would be a 280 cam at around $450. Next item to add would be a Prus cylinder head...

Very likely the problem! Don’t do that! Your automotive paint store will give you a pile of proper strainers for free when you buy your paint & primer.

Re: Read main bearing cap thrust Babbitt thickness
Thrust is on the front of the cap, so move the cap forward and put about .062” babbitt on the front and the rest on the back. Mill .055” of the iron “face” off the front and rear of the 3rd main saddle and cast & machine thrust in the block too. It will extend the wear life of the thrust almost 3x i...

Those are for all of the “Super Six” cast iron Warfords and are required. If you have a large cast iron Warford and don’t have this, you need it.

Re: Driving plate tailshaft failed rivets
I see a lot of speculation here. I’ll add something that hasn’t been mentioned yet. The holes are really ovaled out badly. In order to get ovaled out that bad, the rivets and shaft had to be loose for quite some time. It likely was not a sudden failure. It is possible that drive plate could have bee...

Re: Tudor rear window keeps dropping
As you’ve found out, the repair kit can be disappointing. If you had to file your gear and the spring isn’t doing its job, then it isn’t worth the low price. I’ve installed several of these from Snyders and they are excellent quality. Replace your window glass with safety glass at the same time if y...

No longer available : Pair of Wire wheel front hubs with extra holes. $75 shipped.
They have extra holes in them that appear to be in a larger circle. Not sure what someone was thinking when they did this. These are not being sold for use on a car that gets driven, but they could be ideal for temporary use to roll a project around the garage, a trailer in the backyard, to put wire...

Re: KRW gap gauge
I’m guessing I’ve set the magnet heights on around 100 flywheels, and for most all of those I’ve used the KRW tool. It generally takes 2-4 tries to get well within spec. There probably wasn’t one time that I was happy with the clearance on the very first try. The KRW tool is essential because it all...

The larger radius allows it to gently bend & flex so vibration and engine to frame flex are less likely to break it.

If those fit well, then send yours back for an exchange and tell them you w...

Warford salesman's presentation book for sale (In person at Hershey only)
I have a Warford company salesman's book that came from an estate sale in Syracuse, NY. This is the book that a Warford Company salesman would use in his “in person” sales presentations. It is an album type binder with many documents, photos, and advertisements for their transmissions and products a...
