I rebuilt a Ruckstell where the babbit thrust had failed in it. Some chunks of babbit had wedged it the large bearing and caused it to seize and move on the bronze plate. There was just enough wear so that it was no longer a press fit. It was fixed with a new bronze plate from Chaffins...John

The biggest problem with an air cleaner on a T is that the carb isn't pressure balanced. The bowl is vented to the atmosphere and when you add any thing that restricts the flow, the carb tends to load up. This could probably be cured by adding a tube from the vent to the air intake on the carb..This...

I bought from Chaffin's for my Ruckstell- rebuild....Dave was great and All is well...I did have to thin the keys a bit. I don't mind this as it is normal as near as I can tell, from other projects....
The 1/16 th longer axle was fine and worked well with the 26-27 hubs I had....

I vented the Ruckstell I rebuilt for my speedster. With the sealed pinion and in my case, sealed safety hubs and neoprene grease seals, I feel the axle is pretty much air tight....
