Bit of a drift in subject here, Is anyone interested in Model T Marine engines? I have several copies of articles and some photo's of marine motors sold on ebay over the years. Hi Dan, Love the banana in the differential story, when I was in my teens that was always given as the way to quieten a diff if you wanted to sell it. Hi Chris, According to the "Ford Industries" book Manchester only supplied England, Scotland, Wales and Ulster. Re: Who has a Kelsey Felloe?
Here is a Kelsey rim with separate lug, you can see the rim has a steel block which straddles the bolt to take the driving forces. The Ford rim has a similar design. Obviously a fixed lug rim gets the drive through the bolt/felloe connection and can't slip around each other.

Re: Who has a Kelsey Felloe?
I must have been posting at the same time as Allan, I agree with him only one edge seats the rim this would spread the load evenly around the felloe and rim but the driving/braking forces are taken by either the bolts (if the rims have a fixed lug) or should have an insert in the rim to go over the ...

I would think it unlikely that Cuba would be a place where Model T's were not only in great numbers in 1920 -27 as virtually every other city and country worldwide show figures where Fords after the war outnumbered other makes and often all other makes combined. There was also a similar design for a car chassis to increase the wheelbase. The kit supplied all the extra bits to do so.

According the David Lewis there was no Ford hearses available. He mentioned that in a Car magazine (Car and Parts ) in a column he wrote for them. I sent photo's of Australian Ford hearses and we corresponded for some years. If the Model T' hearses were known to the funeral directors at the time the...

Thanks John and Scott ( for actually answering my questions) Knew of Fred Allison but had not made the starter connection to him. In a discussion with a friend we somehow got to talking about Henry's starter & generator. No problem as to the date it was introduced but when did the actual process start? When the magneto electric light was introduced, Could Henry then have said OK now get to work and work out a starting lighting...

John K, Thanks for the reply, as you can see from Allan's great answer what you were seeing was the result of incorrect installation of the tire and tube. Hi John K, In 60 plus years of Model T driving I have never heard your statement that "back then clincher beads even overlapped in the middle" being expressed. For those interested, these wheels are French. Ford Canada actually lobbied Canadian to change to LHD in 1919 as they wanted to only make LHD Model T's to save costs. Which they agreed in both Atlantic and Pacific provinces which had RHD making it universal for the whole of the Dominion of Canada. So it was actually the Ford Company of Canada wh...

The V8 at Snyder's from memory is not the one the Ford museum had. It is as Old Charley (hi Brian !!) stated different from the one in the link. Agree with Allan, the wood will be not subject to movement except for normal wood shrinkage and expansion if it is sealed with a good clear varnish. If there are gaps then fill them with Ash timber. White as a color was not used widely in the Model T era as it quickly went to yellow. Though I'm sure some had their cars painted white. The problem was the early coach paints used a flat color coat covered with a gloss varnish. Varnish had a yellow tone to start with and sunlight yellowed it more. ...

As you are not going to disassemble the wheels the easiest way to refinish the wheels would be by brush. All the areas are small so a brush is ideal, spraying can be difficult to get all the areas inside and out shiny without overspray on adjacent spokes or areas. As you are brushing either the clea...

John, Depending which series Livingood 4 wheel unit it is depends on whether 2 wheel drive can be selected.
The transfer case is chain driven. The later version which had a Warford box installed behind the motor is constant 4 wheel drive.

I drove it through 2"deep snow on grass up and down a fair slope no problem. These pictures were in my files of one being put together for those interested.
