Re: Special factory oval fuel tank spacer brackets, circa 1920 images.

Thanks Noel, good to hear my question motivated you to investigate your car further and to share your comments. The discontinuation of the round fuel tank and compatibility with earlier bodies is mentioned by both the Model T Service Bulletin, page 199 and The Model T Ford Owner, by Murray Fahnestoc...

Special factory oval fuel tank spacer brackets, circa 1920 images.

What do the original spacer brackets look like under the oval fuel tank mounting straps? According to Bruce McCalley's book on page 259, "The oval tank was raised to the proper height by means of special adapter brackets under the tank-mounting straps." Mine were missing when I originally bought my ...

Re: Auburn, CA Motherlode swap meet report

It was another wonderful event put on by the Mother Lode Model T club. Considering the relocation away from the grassy field this year to the upper asphalt parking area I think it went very well. Easy in for parking and great group of young volunteers waving directions to the buyers parking and clea...

Re: Request for 1920 Roadster Oval Tank details.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to this thread. I've been occupied with doing the wood work needed to change my Mel Miller based (round tank) roadster framing to the oval tank type roadster framing as well as swapping out my round tank to an oval tank. Thanks for the Pictures John. Also thanks t...

Re: Runabout trunk floor board wood type

I have a 1919-22 Turtledeck (with battery configuration for the starter) which has , what I believe is original wood, that I'm copying for my 1921 project (I've got a second turtledeck missing wood that I'm going to use on my car.) It appears similar to George's photo but instead of four sides and a...

Re: Request for 1920 Roadster Oval Tank details.

Thank you Jim for responding to my question. Is the 1920 Roadster listed on your profile equipped with an oval tank? If so, may I ask what the height is on your sheet metal seat heel panel? The vendors do not show different heel panels for roadsters from 1915 through1921 (part number S122 in Langs c...

Request for 1920 Roadster Oval Tank details.

Hello all, I'm building a 1921 Roadster and need information on the mounting of the Oval Fuel Tank. It's my understanding that when the oval tank was introduced in 1920 in preparation for the lower seat position that was to come in 1923/4 a temporary spacer may have been used to raise the oval tank ...

Re: What have you done with your Model T in April?

I hope I don't come off seeming insensitive to Jugster's health situation with my posting following up after Andre's comments. Part of my motivation to get my Roadster moving along in it's re-construction is that I was recovering from an illness from late last year and as like many others on the for...

Re: What have you done with your Model T in April?

Currently, I'm slowly disassembling the Roadster seat assembly I bought at last January's Turlock Swap Meet. I believe the body section had been all original with remnants of original upholstery. It's really been a learning experience for me because I'm learning details of 1920 Roadster construction...

Re: Valve Seals?

My original post/question was in connection to a rebuild I'm having done on my 1921. Unfortunately the machinist I'm using has no experience with Model T's and was encouraging the use of valve seals. So I searched the older forum postings for a consensus on the topic and even visited the California ...

Re: Turlock Swap report??

Not a lot of Model T part activity as there use to be in past years. I did buy part of a 1919-ish (has a hole for the starter button) Roadster body section to complete my Roadster. The part hauler golf carts were not around when I needed them to move my find so instead I got the services of three Hi...
