Re: crank shaft/piston arm question
Magnafluxing T cranks is a must and the cost is insignificant as compared to the cost of an engine rebuild. Also, crank ringing method is not a good test of whether or not a crank is broken. Here some pics to consider: In Pic # can you spot the issue? 20220221_115246.jpg Here's a Pic of the same cra...

I use the Model A rope seal on all my T's, much better than felt. Snyder's has them. You need two. Insert them and then cut them flush with the pan and /or timing cover.

Adam,
I don't believe that's how you measure the lift of a camshaft. It's a ratio calculated by the lobe nose to heel measurement minus the measurement of the base circle.

What was the bore size before honing? That will make a better determination on whether or not you need to sleeve the engine. The pedal shaft spacing on the 26/27 hogs head between the brake band and low speed band is wider to insure the brake pedal shaft is centered over the wider brake drum and band. Re: Bendix
This might be a Model A bendix. At first glance, they both look were very similar until you place them side-by-side.
To me, the collar is not as wide as Allan pointed out and of a larger diameter than the T, which is more in line with an A if I remember correctly.

Refrain from using "L@@K," this doesn't make people look at your ad.

What is the significant of "L@@K." I see this on ebay from time to time, but not too much anymore.

I have a brand new rear lower panel...this panel on most original TTs is generally rusted out at the bottom. Send me a PM.

Re: 6 volt battery dilemma
Let's face facts, the model T third-brush generator is the primary killer of the 6 volt lead acid battery in the T due to overcharging. When the engine is running the generator is outputting current to the battery whether it needs charging or not. I (and others) run our generators (that still have a...

Re: McLaren Wires and Universal T Drivers --- Years of Tire Trouble
Scottio, Just for the record, the Ford 21 inch wood spoke split rim and the wire wheels (first appearing in 1925) were not clincher style tires. These 21 inch tires, called "balloon tires" back then had a max PSI of 35. I run 30-32 PSI on my 27 Tudor. These are the same tires used on the 1928/29 Mod...

Re: 1915 fan bracket curve up or down?
Robert,
Keep in mind that the diameter of fan hub and the crank belt pulleys were different between 1915 and 1927, so if using a 1915 fan hub with 1927 crank pulley it will more than likely result in a nonstandard belt sizing.

It seems that the Words "Rebuilt" or "Remanufactured" Have Different Connotation to some folk!!!
The below link to a Model T engine on ebay is advertised as being “rebuilt,” but by my standards (and many others) this is not clearly not a rebuilt short block. Whomever buys this engine with the understanding that it was “rebuilt” will be greatly disappointed. At best, this might fall into the cat...

Overhead Cylinder Head Repro
Some years ago a guy was reproducing an overhead valve head, does anyone know who this guy is? He also made a dual overhead cam model T head too that I saw running at the 100th anniversary in Indiana.

Re: '27 Radiator Apron
To locate the hole, buy some Persian blue from the auto parts store. Smear some on surface of 1/4-20 hole on the engine mount and then fit the upon. The Persian blue will transfer to the apron marking where the hole should be drilled.
