I believe there are two issues in play.
One with the wheels.
One with the particular tires that I had.

A machinist friend put them in a 4-jaw and cut the recess for the seal.
The seal is a snug fit installed with Loctite.
It's good to have friends with skills. :D

I will be "squatting" in Ron Patterson's stall off-&-On during the swap meet. I will have some HCCT meters for sale. If you have an HCCT meter to be refurbished, you can get it to me there. Also, Ron will be selling copies of the "HCCT Handbook" for MTFCA at a discount. (Booth NH8 - 10) I look forw...

Early Clutch Arm Bolts

In the photo below, the clutch arms are retained on the shaft by bolts - not riveted.
This is in an aluminum hogshead without the reinforcing ribs (early).
What year hogshead would this be?

Re: Wanted: 18-Z-245-B HCCT Spark Ring

An actual original spark ring will be hard to find.
Try Bob Scherzer (bscherzer@juno.com).
He makes a spark ring that can be adapted to the Ford style units.

Re: Looking for Ford HCCT Serial Numbers

To the best of my knowledge, only the original Ford produced units had the hand stamped 18Z245N180.

Re: Looking for Ford HCCT Serial Numbers

Original Ford HCCTs have 18Z245N180 hand stamped on the side of the base.
18Z245-A, -B, -C, etc. is cast into the various parts of the HCCT (base, spark ring, pulley, etc.) on Ford and some non-Ford units.
It's all explained in the book.
