Re: Some general questions
LittleTimmy52- I don't understand- where is the setting on a coil to make it function on battery? Personally, I've never seen the switch that's on a coil. Is yours an original FORD coil? You wrote "Next is an electrical issue, setting the coil to battery the coils don't come on all the time, and bas...

Re: Smoking Ammeter? Any ideas?
A similar smoking situation happen to me on a tour a couple of years ago. Lots of smoke! It turned out that a "hot wire" had been rubbing on the bottom edge of the dash for years and the sharp edge of the dash rubbed the insulation off of the wire, creating a short. There was a fuse on the line but ...

Re: Need a replacement LED- help please
I have purchased from LogoLites in the past and was pleased with their site and their service. But, me being a dummy could not find 6v bulbs that had non-staggered pins. I was hoping someone on the forum had already found an item that would fit my need and post a link to that particular item. Bill P...

Need a replacement LED- help please
I am looking for a LED bulb that will replace the existing 1158 incandescent bulb. I have 4 Model T’s that use the same tail lights and all use the 1158 bulb. They work but I want brighter. I do not want to change to a modern fixture, I’d like to stay as original as possible. So far, I have not foun...

Re: New to driving T
My first 2 Model T's were purchased within months of each other. One shifted between low and high smooth as silk. The other shifted hard with a bump and if I tried to shift by "slipping the clutch" it would not slip- it would just go bump-bump-bump (bouncing). After meeting an experienced T owner it...

I'm aware of that, Steve. But where is a good place to put a tag IF you want to add one?

If you were going to add a vin plate?
If you were going to add a vin number (I.D.. Serial number, engine number) plate where would put it? I know that a plate is not required but I have a reason for adding one.
A picture of yours and where you attached it would help. Thanks. Bill,

Re: Manufacture date of my wife's Touring Car?
First, there are no numbers stamped on the frame rail. Second, both upper and lower door hinges on the passenger side measure 1.75". Provided the car is not a "put together", it's a '25. Right? My goal is not to prove the year the car was manufactured, I have a PA title from the previous owner stati...

Re: Manufacture date of my wife's Touring Car?
Here's the deal and I hate to admit it, but the car was purchased by her back in 2002. She bought it because all I ever bought were trucks- TT's & T pickups. I've been driving the Touring car since she bought is for thousands of miles in it, attended many tours, national tours, and Covered Bridge To...

Re: Free model T air filter with Briggs and Stratton tune up kit?
Top end speed? I did it once while on a tour. The engine re-builder was present and he dared me to take him for a ride so he could see how fast my freshly rebuilt engine would. After that scary
experience- I'll never do it again.

Whew! I'm glad that you started rebuilding coils when you did! Why? Because at least 32 of that total were mine
.
Maybe more.

I agree with the color. I once had a '26 coupe painted the same color. On a cloudy day- it almost could have been mistaken for black.

Re: Running rough-need ideas
Early this century, I was on a tour with the Tennessee T's in my '21 Depot Hack, which was running great. Then it started running rough and it quit running. Had it not been for 2 "older" members (Larry Williams & Lynn Cook) I probably would have used the buzzard truck to get back to the motel. These...

Re: If you own a Model T Ford why?
This is my story- I graduated HS in 1965. Then went to college and Uncle Sam drafted me and sent me to Vietnam. Like most guys my age, my dream was to own a GTO that would squeal the tires. Upon return in Nov from Vietnam I went to the local Christmas Parade to look at all of the beautiful cars. The...

Re: Left Side Rux shifter
I have 5 T's with Ruckstell axles. 3 have LH shifters, 2 have RH shifters. I'll have to admit that the LH is easier to manipulate than the RH units. But both are easy and well worth the expense.

Re: What can I use for the sealer for the 27 sediment bowl
I'm with Dave Dufault on his choice of EZ TURN Lubricant for aircraft. It's Fuel resistant. I've had fuel shut-off valves that would drip constantly. After taking the valve apart and putting a small amt on the moving parts the leak stops and so far no re-do's on any of my T's. On carb sediment bowls...

Re: T losing power when hot
If only.....there is a Model T owner in your neck-of-the-woods, who is running the same carb as you (and his runs good), and the owner would be willing to unbolt his and come bolt it to your motor, as a trial for a test drive. There is nothing as good as replacing a bad part with a "known-go...
