Re: What is the difference between a Model T and Model A Crankshaft?
If the front of the crankshaft at the pulley is threaded and the pan has four bumps on each side where it is bolted to the block, there’s a good chance you have a Model A crank Remove the inspection cover and have a look A Model crank has larger mains and rod pins along with a 1/4” longer stroke. Ta...

Re: New engine start-up ----- NOISE!
Well me thinks you found some or all your noise. But it not the spring rubbing on the flyweight. It is the missing counter weight being chewed up in side the engine. Don’t start the engine until you find the remains of the counterweights.

Less
I get 1.625” bore on a stroker Scat rod for inserts.
Still maybe be best to call Scat or King bearings

Re: Aschman, Fahnestock, and the K.R. Wilson valve timing tool?
The process was/is intended for setting valves on a worn out valve train only. You will not get any benefit by doing so. In fact it will hurt performance in your case. Don’t do it. You have low use on the cam and lifters. Set valve lash a .010” on both intake/exhaust per the cam manufactures recomme...

Re: connecting rod size
Why not have a set of rods poured and cut to your size. They are a number of companies that can provide you that service for the same price as a standard or .010" under rod.

Could also be a clear urethane. That would require an automotive paint remover.

Re: Scat Rods 2T7000
Dan I don't have a current parts book from Synders so I don't know if they sell the Scat rod your asking about. Guess you should call them. The part number is indeed a Scat rod as Jason has posted Kerry. Don't know what to say about your cranks but I have five of Scats T cranks in the shop today. Al...

Re: Scat Rods 2T7000
Standard Ford crank was 1.2485" for .0015" clearance Scat crank is the same Dia. The Scat rod is H beam construction standard model T length with bushing for a model T piston wrist pin. The wrist pin is full floating (no wrist pin bolt) so a button is used or you can contact Chaffins for a set of Eg...

Re: INSERT ROD BEARINGS--LONG TEM REPORT?
Check with Scat. Last week I spoke with Tom and he said they have made a standard Model T rods that use an insert or can be Babbitted
Now an opinion, our T engine is very dirty and running inserts without filtered oil is asking for problems. Yes it is done but many have failed

Re: McLaren Wires and Universal T Drivers --- Years of Tire Trouble
I had the same problem on a early set. The rims were powder coated and that was the issue. I had to use some course sand paper on the inside of the rim and rough it up a bit. Sure solved my problem, many many mile and never cut a stem off.

Re: Transmission drum balancing
Mike The balancer is Steve's but I have one much like it. To answer your question on balancing shafts I made one for each drum. I have found that finding the heavy side of the brake drum and drive plate and putting them 180 degrees out really helps in balancing them. I set up the brake/drum as a uni...

Re: Roof 16 head and domed pistons
High compression piston will help in boosting the compression ratio. Standard T Model pistons would be lucky to give you any boost in C/R. Scott the combustion chamber in Roof's overheads usually have more CC's than a stock Ford head. Measure the volume of the combustion chambers in C/C's and let us...
