If after running the car down the road for an hour or so, look at the plugs. If the front pair are still carbon up (darker in color) than the rear pair. Tighten up the rear manifold clamps. The rear has an air leak causing you to set the carb richer which makes the front pair carbon up.

Head gaskets are available, I just got a few from Lang’s. I have extra pushrods that are correct for Fronty. High compression pistons are a plus, increasing the compression ratio is a benefit. Straighten the low speed pedal. Sure sounds like it is bent forward and needs to be pulled back. This can be done in the car cold or with care some heat

Use a 5/8” Id X 1/16 Oring. Chamfer the edge of the bore. Grease and install.
Use a long reach cutter and make a groove leaving the Oring proud on the shaft.

The best fix is to turn from in front of the Ford groove to the front of the crank. After clean up make a sleeve and press in place. Then turn that down to size, drill the pulley pin hole
The Model A seal won’t fix your problem.

I will answer a couple of question as the OP doesn’t have the answers.
Oil filter. In a box, on a cart in my shop.
Check valve. Yes spring loaded
It will open at a very very low crack pressure
It will flow more oil than the pump will need to supply mains and rods. Not my first rodeo here guys.

Adam is correct that the bearings are much better in construction and don’t present the problem I was addressing.

Well me thinks you found some or all your noise. But it not the spring rubbing on the flyweight. It is the missing counter weight being chewed up in side the engine. Don’t start the engine until you find the remains of the counterweights.

I had the same problem on a early set. The rims were powder coated and that was the issue. I had to use some course sand paper on the inside of the rim and rough it up a bit. Sure solved my problem, many many mile and never cut a stem off.
