The thread on those appears to be straight. If they measure approximately 1/2", they are most likely 14 mm. The threads will cross and not provide a proper seal....

Those particular plugs do not have 1/2" pipe thread. If you found bethlehem plugs with pipe thread, there is no reason the wouldn't work.

That is an updraft and has the wrong mounting for your Fronty. When I had my Fronty, I ran a Stromberg MB1 carburetor. It's a side draft that was also used on a Stude light six. Good strong carburetor that will supply all the gas you'll need. You can find them on ebay and the price is usually pretty good...
