the hubs came without the brake drum
Just the hub with the studs installed

If the brake drum had been installed I wouldn't have had the problem.
The brake drum holes are .6 so the hub would have been .6

Re: Adding Model A crank to T engine early ideas

The WW2 Tank and landing craft engines used a shorter flange with I believe a 40 spline to drive the clutch plate. After the war there were a lot of these engines sold new in the crate. They used a lot of Continental W-670 aircraft engine parts. As I understand it the airplane guys used these engine...

Re: Babbit thrust washers

The gentleman that started the restoration of my 15 Runabout has gone west so I have no way of knowing if I have babbit or Bronze washers. My rear end is a ruckstell. Is it possible to see the washer with the shifter removed? I would guess that the rear brakes that I have would allow me to stop if t...

Larry,
AC brakes don't come with the linkage.
He leaves it up to the buyer to decide which method to use.

Re: Just hauled home 1911 runabout

Is it possible to make the seat material (leather?) more pliable?
I would think that sitting on it in its current condition would destroy it.
If I were lucky enough to have it I wouldn't restore it but clean it up and drive it like it is.

Re: Hard starting: I'm out of ideas.

When it came time to try and start my 15 runabout which was assembled when I bought it I had two problems. If I pulled it through choked for two revolutions it was flooded and I would wait a day to try again. If I advanced the spark about 1/2 inch from full retard it would start on the first pull af...

Re: Sealing my 12 rivet rear end

For years I have used Aviation Permatex which comes in a can as a thick liquid.
It appears to be alcohol based as it cleans up with alcohol.
Never gets hard and seems to seal well.
I also use a silk thread between case halves on aircraft engines.

Scott
I posted for some of the same and never received a response?
I gave up and ordered rubber stem tubes.
My neighbor and I ruined two tubes today and I ordered flaps to maybe help.
I'm 80 and he is only 60 with mucho strength.

I had been trying for over a month to mount my new excelsior tires.

if you can settle for 50 weight Aeroshell aviation oil is available in compounded (detergent) and straight mineral oil. For some archaic reason it is called Aeroshell 100. You might look into this. That is definitely a handy wrench. I have an old bent and beat up one that I have been using on my 15's wheels.
It works on the hub caps and the threaded bearings. Not sure what the orifices are good for?
Maybe some one out there can update us?

Royce makes it look so easy. I have been trying to mount my first of 4 new excelsior (SP) tires for the last month and am getting nowhere. I would like to buy four number 777 valve stems for my 30X3.5 tubes.

Re: Antique car registration cost in AZ?

for cars built before 1928 they use the original sale cost to determine value.
I just registered my new to me 1915 and they decided that the value was as I recall
$260. They did the same thing when I licensed my 1925. I had the original bill of sale for it.

My new inner tubes have a valve stem that is larger than the hole in the rim?
Should I drill it larger or just use them as is.
