Check to see how far into the driven plate the three pins are? I replaced six sets of the turbo 400, jack rabbit , watts clutches this past year, I have never seen the steel ones destroyed. My guess is there is an after market set of disc in there causing these issues!

Andre, it is common for the early pans to crack there, the later years reinforced them, only way to fix it right is to remove pan and weld the cracks on inside and out then grind flat again for gasket to mate.

I have had only one Model T engine show up clean, the rest are oily cruddy messes, the only time my hands are clean is when the wife talks me into a weeks vacation down south!

Re: 1909-10 Brass Timer contact ring

I think there is one in a box of timers and a few of the brass rollers are there also, you are close enough to come see if it is what you want?

I bought a car windshield wiper that was long enough and made it work, you have to trim some off the back side.

I think the yellow trim was cute back in the day, at least you could see the peddles at night! Looks like a good crew helping and learning maybe some day they will be the care taker of one?

Re: Spoke crack too cracked?

If any one has cut as much wood as I have you can see in the picture that some of them are hickory from the color and grain, The crack can come from any piece of wood that is not sealed at an end. Years ago I took a hickory down just for the making of spokes, I did not paint the end while it was dry...

Have you ever tried welding one on? I wired welded a couple of them and what ever they are made of broke right back off, I then brazed them on and that held but did not like that ideal of brass instead of steel!

As Adam said the tabs break off and you have to open the inspection cover any ways, just hope the tab does not drop down in and then you go fishing!

If I was rebuilding an older engine it would have the 1/4 field coil with a ring geared flywheel in it, no one will know and some day we are all going to get old and hand cranking an old car or hitting a starter switch is the choice you may take some day of driving which car, I have seen it happen m...
