I'm late to the party, as usual... But have been told my RPU is likely a cut down touring, although it was a roadster when my dad got it done 35 years ago. I took the turtle deck off and built an abnormally long bed for it, asi wanted to haul at least 8 foot boards with it. It was made from locally ...

After returning Frank to Ford steel clutch plates, and getting everything back together, I discovered 2 more cracks in the water jacket area of the driver's side of the block... That's how I did mine, yes. Unbolted the turtle deck, bolted ash 2x4 or better, from side to side, then ran 1" ash deck boards front to back, and lag bolted to the 2x4 'slats'. Hi would have to really dig for some in-progress photos of it, as that was several phones ago!

Have a turtle deck and spare tire carrier from a 24-ish roadster. It's now an RPU, and no place to store. Make an offer (offers??) Would prefer local pickup, as would be difficult to ship... Courious as to how they sound. One of these appeared to be look labled exhaust horn. Do some sound like horns, and others whistles?? Seems like it would be fun to tube them.

I know it's not a biggie, and I can order new ones, but thought I would see what folks might have for sale or want to get rid of. Looking for a dash light for my '24 RPU. Re: grease zerk for U-joint grease cup
I find the grease cups to be totally inadequate to get any reasonable amount of grease where it needs to go, particularly for the u joint and rear axles, and unscrewing the cap to do a repeated filling sucks the grease back out, I end up pumping in and sucking the same grease in and out of the cup....

So, adding splash pans will help with cooling .. but pretty much the opposite to what I 'think' I want to do. Sounds like blocking the radiator is probably the simplest. I might be into another canvas project , so the amount of blockage can be adjusted.

I drove to the Home Depot for a good test run, after some short jonts to adjust bands, check for leaks, etc, after a transmission rebuild, valve job, steering rebuild, etc. We have some good hills in the area, so got a chance to see how the new-old head worked. It worked great! It's an unmarked old/...
