FS - 1926-27 Ford Model T Fenders and Running Boards - $400 OBO

One set of front/rear fenders and splash shields for a 1926-27 Ford Model T Sedan or Touring. The metal is very solid, but there are several dents and some cracks. A good body man can get them back into shape. Brand new front fenders are available for $550 a piece through Rootlieb and new replacemen...

"Asleep on the running board"

resting on running board.jpg
I took my three-year-old son to the park today in Graham, WA. I guess he wore himself out. He got to the car and decided to "take a nap" on the running board - lol.

Water separator

With ethanol fuel being about the only thing you can get at the fuel pump, has anyone installed a water separator in the fuel line? If so, what time do you recommend?

Re: Hood Corners Pads - what are they?

They are great to have as they keep a klutzy guy, like myself, from scratching the cowl.

Mobil 28 grease on Timer?

I was reading an article on Modeltfordfix.com today and it recommended using Mobil 28 grease for the timer. Has anyone ever use this stuff? eBay terms that as aircraft Grease. Any recommendations? Thanks.

Re: So tell me why I should buy a model T?

I personally like the uniqueness compared to other early automobiles, as well as that I am driving a piece of history. Compared to other monikers, they are easy to get parts for and there is a plethora of experience and manuals to assist even the basic mechanic. I am currently restoring my late fath...

Timing rod adjustment for Anderson timer

My car has recently not been running very smooth, though the acceleration has been good. This issue has been going on for some time now, so I searched past forum threads on timing the Model T and came across Tom Carnegie's 10 step method. I adjusted the rod according to the method and, though the en...

Re: Problem with car running on battery

Has the coil box been gone through and rebuilt? If it’s still in it’s original shape it’s time to rebuild it. You can be really surprised how much better a T can run with all new wiring and new copper coated coil box bolts in it. It’s the heart of a T’s electrical system. Yes, I rebuilt the coil bo...

Re: Problem with car running on battery

Check your voltage on the battery side of the key switch. Kinda sounds like you’re not getting decent voltage from the battery. Do you see any green corrosion at your battery cable ends ? Battery posts clean ? Is the ground cable firmly attached to the frame with a clean connection? I will check th...

Problem with car running on battery

Being far from a mechanical expert, I am unsure what to do so my car runs better on battery. I am running a 1927 tudor with a Holley carburetor and an Atlas exhaust manifold - the same manifold that I have been using since I bought the car in 2006. The car has never been a strong runner on battery b...
