Re: How to edit my post?

Everything seems to be fine now. Perhaps it was because I was a newly registered user? Regardless, I seem to be able to edit and delete posts now except for those I posted before today. Thanks for your help. Peter

Re: old photo Winnipeg 1912

A correction to my previous post - those covers on the left side of the block must be inspection covers. I can see the valve ports on the right side of the engine.

Re: How to edit my post?

Yes, if I post in the general forum I see the edit button and the delete icon as well. Is there a setting something?

In this thread I can edit my last two posts, but not the first one I put up.

Re: How to edit my post?

Thank you Jeff, but I don't have those icons. Only the rightmost two.

However, the two Model Ts would make regular appearances throughout the season. They have a few guys on the set who do minor maintenance and driv...

Re: old photo Winnipeg 1912

Harold, there seem to be no remaining examples of large early Russell engines so anything is possible, but I doubt it for these reasons: 1. if it is a 50 hp engine, Russell did not make them until 1908. (They made a 40hp in 1907) 2. The only early Russell 4 cyl engines I've seen (not Knight) have th...

Re: old photo Winnipeg 1912

Great picture. When you consider that they only made about 200 cars per year, that's quite a selection to end up in Winnipeg. They appear to be 1911 and 1912 models. The ones with the crank in the "up" position are 1912.

Charlie, I believe the closest car (far left) is a 1911 Model 22.
