Re: No Model T Driving - MAJOR FLOOD in Taree, Australia, Two People Dead

Thanks for the rain gauge info.
We have an annual rainfall of about 38" in the Pacific Northwest. I can't imagine getting 1/3 of our annual rainfall in one day!

Re: The not so marvelous motor mystery

Have you tried a compression test?
If you don't have a compression gauge you could just try a squirt or two of oil in each cylinder.
Good luck!

Re: Getting a little more out of your T

What year is your T? Any of the original equipment works well but can be improved on. Check/ replace the easy stuff first such as plugs. The things that woke my 23 up were rebuilt coils from one of the rebuilders on the forum. A TW timer, Stan Howe rebuilt NH carb then a Prus head. Do one thing at a...

Re: Shipping a model T to Alaska

You don't day where the T's are located but if you can get them running and to a port that is one option. We shipped the daughters vehicle from Anchorage to Seattle about 20 years ago, worked ok but I wouldn't ship them open deck! It was about $400. But remember that was 20 years ago! Another option...

Gene C. Yes, I remember when you and RDR " found" each other. I remember Reid W. also. Hope things straightened out for him... One of the guys I miss is Bob Gruber (rip). He was the organizer of our Tenino lunch get togethers. Didn't see anyone mention Hugh J ? Yep all of that was on dial up!

Bob, You can bet this journey will be the fastest that ol' baggage cart has ever traveled! I have one very much like the one pictured that I'm replacing the wood in. Right now I'm trying to get the courage to make the mortise and tennon joints there are about 20 of them! A bit of trivia for you........

#6 Could be the brushes in the generator aren't making contact with the armature.
You can hose it down with contact cleaner and or use crocus cloth on the armature.
Just don't clean with anything that will imbed grit.
Good luck!

Re: KampKar for sale One of two originals

I thought I saw where Peter Kable had signed up on the new forum but perhaps not. I would consider him the mtfca resident authority on the KampKar. Peter lives in Australia but had his KampKar on display in the US for several years then drove it on a rather long tour and road trip before the KampKar...
