Ignition Key #63 King Lock

WTB. Model T Ford Ignition Key #63 produced by King Lock Company. The manufacturing insignia on the key is a small kings crown with the letter “K” inside of it. The insignia is just under the Ford Script on the front of the key.

This Clum key look more like something for Dodge Brothers. This wafer type key was not used for a model T. I am certain there is someone out there who know something about these keys and ignition switches, but they are not the issued with the Model T.

There is some good advice on some of these posts. You can shove them in with the hog's head in place, but the spring steel bands will not be round when done this way. Cotton bands make it easier with the hog's head on, but with Kevlar, just save yourself time and pull the HH to have concentric bands...

Many years ago I experienced a T coasting to a stop with no reaction from any of the pedals. I had a broken axle shaft that caused this problem. When they break it is usually just inside the outer wheel roller bearing.

Here is nice night drive around Lake Miola in Kansas. It is not at midnight, but 10:00 PM is close enough for me. It is 27 degrees and just ahead of a snow and ice storm later tonight. Nothing like bringing in 2021 while driving a Model T. Happy New Year!

The meter should read up to 10 amps with the lights off and at a fairly good engine speed. If there is no charge the very first place I would troubleshoot is the generator cut-out. Simply jump around it with a jumper on each of the cutout posts. If it registers a charge then you have found the issue...

No need to torque the exhaust nuts at all. Just run them down fairly tight to compress the gasket using your box end wrench. Just measured a 1913 Huckster at 84.5 Inches to the top of the crown at the center, and a 1911 Touring right at 84.5 inches at the second for the rear top bow - which is even all the way across. I have no knowledge or references to the 1909 Touring cars.

I agree with the valve problem for the one cylinder that has low compression, especially after a rebuild. I would recommend a leak down test for the cylinder in question.
