Re: PRE-PRODUCTION MODEL T?
Good words Wayne - thank you. In our neck of the woods, down here, down under in the auto world, some unique terms have evolved. Probably the best-known model identifying term is "Single Spinner" and "Twin Spinner". You and most Americans will have no idea what I'm referring to, and that's ok. A "Si...

Re: PRE-PRODUCTION MODEL T?
Indeed - the model year (then the same as Ford's fiscal year) began 1 October, I believe.

Re: PRE-PRODUCTION MODEL T?
Thanks Kerry.
Yes, I am still in touch with Bob.
But he and I both know that neither of us can answer the question.
If the first 2,500 Ts are referred to as pre-production, that term will be global.

DOES ANYONE RECOGNISE THIS BRITISH FORD CAR FROM CALIFORNIA - OWNED BY MOVIE DIRECTOR
Hello All, A car has come up for sale in New Zealand, which appears to be genuine and have an interesting story. The car is a British-made 1961 Ford Mark 2 Zodiac convertible. Good ones are few and far between. Essentially, I understand it was purchased either when new, or very new, by the American ...

PRE-PRODUCTION MODEL T?
Greetings All, My name is John Stokes, and I am from New Zealand. I had been a frequent contributor to this forum during the period I was researching for my book, Ford in New Zealand. The assistance I received from through this forum was invaluable and I shall never forget it. I have produced a seco...

Just a little more on the New Zealand Motor Cup. I don't like the (condescending) phrase, 'punching above our weight', but that is exactly how New Zealand can be viewed in the global motor sport arena. We have produced some incredible success stories - the latest being Scott Dixon, and look out for ...

Rob - will you follow up on the Model K held at Invercargill's "Transport World"?
FYI - Bob Trevan in Queensland, Australia knows Jim Cooper and is also very au fait with that K.

The winning Cadillac! I finally managed to post the pic - but not before the system wiped out my earlier attempts and verbage. In a nutshell, the winning car from 1921 has survived! What's more, it is in the same family ownership. A commemoration event had been planned for Muriwai, a black sand beac...

Great sleuthing Rob! A big thank you. I've had a quick read and the immediate two matters that come to mind are... 1) The photo of the K racer, parked outside a stone building on a slight incline (or is that a decline!) that you've colourised is definitely not Marton. Marton is completely flat - gre...

Keith G - please allow me to answer your question on whether any of the car remains. The short answer is 'no'. The slightly longer answer is that the car ended up at a car dismantling business called AutoParts, which was the first such business to be opened in NZ (in the early 20s, without checking)...

Re: 100 year ago today, 03-05-1921. However, this story begins in 1906.
A little on the New Zealand Motor Cup, written by Howard Nattrass, grandson of the driver of the 1921 winning car... "100 years ago today - 5th March 1921, the first New Zealand Motor Cup race took place on Muriwai Beach, Auckland. The race was a 25 mile drag race and was won by Howard Nattrass in a...

No photo attached in that previous post - for some reason, I am unable to do so. I checked the FAQs and cannot see what the problem might be.

Thanks so much for all the input.
For Warwich - that is the info they were looking for, thank you very much.
For Luke - yes, the car is in Canterbury. You may know Chris Dyer - he is co-ordinating the efforts, and I'm sure he would be pleased to hear from you.

URGENT! WIRING ON EARLY ELECTRIC-START T - OR TRYING TO CONTACT WARWICK LANDY (OR SOMEONE WITH CANADIAN SERVICE MANUAL)
Hi All, Long time, me not post - but I am still around. Bottom line up front - does anyone have a diagram and/or pictures of the high-mounted generator and electric starter of a Canadian T from when it was first available (1920)? I am trying to help the family of a chap whose 1920 Canadian T, with a...
