Re: FS: Rajo 4 valve head
Nice looking head. Any idea of the compression ratio? Would one need to run a water pump with this setup? Bob the compression is probably pretty similar to a stock T low head. The combustion chamber isn’t small, but it cuts out the whole area where the intake valve would normally be. I ran mine wit...

Re: FS: Rajo 4 valve head
Do you have any idea what performance the engine have in horsepowers? It will depend on what cam you run, what exhaust, and whether you run this intake and carb setup I have or something different. I would guess the head by itself is worth a good 20-25. Dual exhaust or a big header and tube are pro...

Re: FS: Rajo 4 valve head
Do you have the valve covers? Leaving the exposed to road dust on the top might cause some issues. Hank No valve covers, I had some years ago but another gentleman purchased those from me. I’ve had this head on my speedster and done all kinds of off-roading, but I’ve never had any issues with dirt ...

Re: FS: Rajo 4 valve head
I have a dual intake with a matching pair of U&J carbs that I could add to sweeten the deal, but that would drive the price up another $1,100.
If I include the intake and the two carbs, I’d ask $5,000 plus shipping.

FS: Rajo 4 valve head
I really like the way my speedster runs with this head, but family issues dictate that I need the $ from it more than the head itself. When things settle down in the future I’ll get another one. For sale is an aluminum Rajo 4 valve head, taken off of a speedster that runs like a scalded dog. No crac...

Re: Going to Fountainhead Antique Auto Museum today
The skeeters haven’t been bad at all. I’ve only seen a few really really late in the evening. Granted, they’re almost as big as yellow jackets but there hasn’t been the “carry you away” hoard that I was expecting. They had a video of them driving the Hay around up on a TV monitor. Lol, it ran about ...

The burl walnut on this Packard was mind blowing. This was the only car that just seemed too nice to drive. I think getting to sit in it would be sensory overload. It’d be hard to pay attention to the road.

UGGGHHHHHH I probably looked at this ‘23 Mercury speedster the longest. I wish they would have let me open the hood cause I know there’s a Rajo head in there. I would have crawled all over it and underneath just looking at everything.

This Premier has a really cool starting system - you pump up a reservoir to 150 PSI and then it has tubing to distribute the pressure to the cylinders to get them moving.

1909 Model T, has an NH carb and brassworks radiator, but still a really well done car. No clue if the block is real or not.

You can't turn the fan bracket around, the adjusting tab would be on the wrong side. LOL *smacks forehead* duh, yeah. What Mark said. Just do like I did and take the fan off completely. Re: My car is fighting me?
I would try turning your fan bracket around. You have it now where it sits a bit closer to the engine. You’ll have to take the pulley off and then you can turn it over where it will sit a little bit further away. Might still need a shim but maybe not.

For my Ruckstell I use 85/140 but also a healthy big gob of Lucas oil stabilizer. I like the Lucas a lot for getting all over everything and sticking well. In my Chicago auxiliary I use 80w90 and lots of Lucas again. I’ve run just straight Lucas in that but it’s too expensive when it climbs out of t...

Sounds like too much fuel. Try starting next time without choking, and open the throttle up twice as much as you normally would, 1-2 pulls, then close throttle a notch, 1-2 pulls, repeat. I’ll be surprised if it doesn’t start a lot sooner than you expect it to (be ready to close throttle without run...

I use a piece of brass as the thrust washer between the axles. It’s relatively easy to size correctly and it’ll wear before wearing on anything else (along with wearing more slowly than fiber).

Ross Steering Box for sale (great for speedster build)
I offered this originally to the guy who was looking for a period gearbox for his speedster, but he passed on it and I’m looking to move it. Internals look great, no slop. It’s a worm gear box. Asking $650 plus shipping. Happy to answer questions or post more pics.

Here are pics. I think I emailed everyone back who inquired. OP has first dibs, wide open after that. Asking $650 plus shipping. Internals look awesome, still good oily grease in there, no rust. I can’t feel any slop when I turn the shaft and hold the steering arm.
