You are the most lucky of all, to avoid having been hit by the flying blade. So many times, people gather around an open hood while someone is revving their engine. NEVER stand in line with a spinning fan blade. On the MTFCI Int'l. Tour, just concluded today, an individual had a blade come off and ...

Sometimes, you get lucky and unlucky. On my way to the brass era show at gilmore this morning my fan belt fell off. I put it back on at the show and driving home it fell off again. This is the first time I've had issues with the fan belt. Nothing was noticeably loose or wobbly when I put the belt on...

Yesterday, I returned the water pump and thermostat someone installed on my 12 to its rightful place. The shelf. It has a basically new flat tube brassworks radiator so idk why they felt the need.
Went for a hour drive and all worked well, and temps were great.

I don’t think it’s part of a 4th main bearing cage. The diameter would be too small for that. I still think it’s some kind of aftermarket part or what’s left of it. The only way to know for sure is to take the engine apart or at least the pan cover and see if any pieces are laying in it. I agree. B...

Dirt dobbers & mice really like new metal ha. Put a new muffler on a T years ago & several weeks later went for a short drive. What size pistons are in it? How were the bores measured? Were they bored and honed during the rebuild? Honed only? Sounds like the motor is tight. Could fix itself with a few heat cycles as it runs in, but could be a problem if it's too tight. If it were me I'd pull the head to have a look at the b...

In panic mode it could be used in conjunction with the transmission brake along with engine braking as an "emergency brake" just before you crash. I think ford just called it the "hand lever" but could be wrong. Is the metal hardened like a bearing race?
Or softer?
Doesn't look like any t part. Could be some fod that fell in when the trans cover was off at some point.

Re: Adding emergency brake back to car (was removed)
Your drum looks to be machined to take an original small drum. However, your most likely issue, & probably the reason there is no original parking brake drum, Is the extra thickness added which usually requires longer axles to clear. (or an axle stretch job on both sides) If the external band brake...

By the way, there is a huge difference between a Model T engine that starts and "Runs" and one that Runs well. 1000% this.
