I looked in my patent books and the dates the patents were granted jumps from March 6 to March 13 there are no listings for March 11. I have almost all the patent books from 1872 to 1973. The books go by year and month. Please check the date and I will try to help. Dan

I am running APCO rear brakes on our 1921 roadster pickup and when adjusted correctly they work very well.

I found one other number on them (101089) which I am assuming it is the date they were made. When I unwrapped them they had the rubber flash still on the tread from when they molded them. Dan

I have set of new 30x3 1/2 tires that haven’t any markings on them except that they say made in Australia and the size. Before I mount them on the rims does anyone have any information or thoughts on them as to the quality of the tires. Thanks Dan

The Babbitt looks good and has no cracks, it is also tight in the tube, the ID is with in .010 of the shaft OD, the shaft has very little wear at the bearing surface and the thrust is with in .008. ...

I have 2 Chicago transmissions and the cases are different. The input shaft bearing bore is larger on one. Both use the same bearing in the center. Bearings were still available last fall, and I think that bearing is the same as the cluster gear bearings. Dan

Thank You All for your information, I never thought of using a ball in the tapered bore for getting the correct size, I will do just that. I turned a taper on a piece of round stock up and machined a 1/4 in. keyway in it to use as a mandrel to broach the key slot in the new sprockets. ----Dan Greger

I am working on a Farm Tractor Co. of Fond Du Lac Wi. conversion and I am building the rear roller sprockets ( I have one 4 roller original for a pattern).
